The Shrine of the Stations of the Cross is a significant spiritual and artistic site located in San Luis, Colorado's oldest town, approximately 20 miles southeast of Blanca. Situated atop a mesa known as "La Mesa de la Piedad y de la Misericordia" (Hill of Piety and Mercy), the shrine features a series of 15 bronze sculptures depicting the final hours of Christ's life, culminating with His resurrection. These sculptures were meticulously crafted by internationally renowned local artist Huberto Maestas. The shrine, dedicated in 1990, stands as a testament to the deep-rooted faith and cultural heritage of the San Luis community, attracting pilgrims, art enthusiasts, and those seeking contemplation from around the world.
